Abu Dhabi Customs has warned members of the public and its customers about fraudulent messages impersonating the authority and shipping companies, urging recipients not to respond to the messages or open suspicious links.
The authority said the fraudulent communications are being circulated through SMS and iMessage and may contain claims about shipments or requests to update delivery or personal information. The messages may also use phone numbers, names or other details designed to create the false impression that they are connected to official entities.
Abu Dhabi Customs stressed that such messages may be attempts to obtain personal or sensitive information. It urged the public not to share personal details with unknown parties or interact with suspicious links.
Customers were advised to rely only on Abu Dhabi Customsโ official channels for information and services and to verify any communication before taking action.
The authority also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting customer data and maintaining high cybersecurity standards in coordination with relevant authorities to monitor and address fraudulent activities.
Abu Dhabi Customs called on members of the public who receive suspicious messages impersonating the authority to report them through its official channels. The move is aimed at helping authorities identify phishing attempts and strengthen public awareness of digital fraud.
The warning comes amid broader efforts by Abu Dhabi authorities to combat increasingly sophisticated online scams involving fake accounts, fabricated messages and attempts to obtain personal or financial information.
